The Milk Frother

 Story Time!!!!

I have a milk frother... I don't actually use it to froth milk (I'm no barista)... I actually use it to mix my morning shakes. It's the bee's knees, let me tell ya! No mess and very little effort to clean afterwards, PLUS it breaks down the powder chunks from the stuff I mix in it. My bad, this wasn't supposed to turn into an ad... but as you can probably tell, I love the thing. [Did I mention it was only like $3?!... Sorry, I digress.]

So this frother has been mixing up my morning drinks for a while now and I noticed that it was taking a bit more effort to mix everything together. I started to stir the frother, whilst it stirred my drinks and was still finding a few chunks that needed to be mixed with my straw. Plus, it wasn't cleaning as instantly as before... I was ready to throw the damn thing out and get a new one!

You might already be ahead of me here, so I'll just get to the point (or the reason) straight away. Something told me to change the batteries and wouldn't ya know it... that frother took off like a turbo-blaster! It not only mixed my drink in a fraction of the time... it cleaned up in a snap again! I was over-the-moon!

So, why the hell am I talking about a milk frother?! Simple. The frother story is just a fun little way to remind you (and I) that when we are doing the most for a long time, we are bound to drain ourselves. We'll start to wonder, what the hell is wrong with us? ( Or, I suppose I should say "me" at this point... because I'm not gonna assume for you.)

The bottom-line is this: I can't continue to run in overdrive and then pressume their's something wrong with me when I begin to crash. Instead I need to recognize that, contrary to popular belief [and a bomb song]; I'm NOT every woman! Yes, I'm amazing and yes, I do A LOT of shit... but I don't need to consistently put the pressure of the world on my shoulders, whilst expecting to run at full capacity. I need to give myself a break every now and again, and in doing so... change my proverbial batteries. Then, I'll be capable of coming back to run at a more enhanced level... because I gave myself permission to REST, RELAX and RECHARGE.

Just because you are capable; doesn't mean you need to run yourself into the ground. Don't be a milk frother... lol.
